What is a step counter in a fitness app?
A step counter shows the steps for that day on the same home screen as the daily fitness score, the calorie counter, and the workout tracker. In PerformancePal, steps can come from an optional Apple Health read. The step counter is activity context beside sleep, strain, and recovery, not a separate pedometer you have to open.
Use it with the sleep tracker and the workout planner when you want one fitness app. The macro tracker, meal planner, and habit tracker stay on that day too. If you skip Apple Health, the rest of the log still works and the step count can stay empty.
Steps are not a medical measure and not a diagnosis. PerformancePal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of Apple. Operated by BETTER PRACTICE LLC. Not medical advice. Support: performancepal.support@gmail.com.
How do steps show up next to training?
Home can show steps beside the daily fitness score and the workout you logged. The calorie counter and macro tracker describe food for that same day. Workout history keeps the week, including calories and strain, so one step total does not have to stand alone.
Do you need Apple Health for the step counter?
No. Apple Health is optional and asks for your permission. The workout tracker, calorie counter, habit tracker, and AI fitness coach do not require steps. Connecting Health can fill the step counter, sleep tracker, and strain when you allow those reads.
