What is an Apple Health companion app?
An Apple Health companion reads the Health data you allow and shows it in the app you already use for training and food. PerformancePal can place sleep, steps, and strain next to your daily score and your log. The connection is optional. PerformancePal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of Apple.
Which Apple Health reads can you allow?
You choose the permission. Sleep, activity, and related wellness samples can feed the daily view when you allow them. If you deny access, the rest of the app still works.
Why connect Health instead of typing everything?
Steps and sleep are already on the phone. Letting PerformancePal read them keeps the daily score from depending on a second manual entry. Workouts and meals you log in the app stay in the app.
Is an Apple Health companion a medical device?
No. Reading Health data does not make PerformancePal a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat. Operated by BETTER PRACTICE LLC. Support: performancepal.support@gmail.com.
Can you use PerformancePal without Apple Health?
Yes. Logging workouts, meals, habits, water, and journal notes does not require Health. The score is thinner without those reads, and that is fine.
Who operates the app?
BETTER PRACTICE LLC, a Colorado company. Apple does not operate PerformancePal and has not endorsed it.

The step counter, sleep tracker, and workout tracker get clearer when Health is connected. The calorie counter, macro tracker, and meal planner still work if you skip Health. Habits and water do not need it.
Reading Health data does not make this a medical device. The AI fitness coach only sees Health data you allowed. Operated by BETTER PRACTICE LLC.
